Fertilising your lawn and garden in winter is wasteful as most plants are dormant during the cooler months.
Save yourself time, effort and money, as well as those delicious Blue Swimmer Crabs, and put your feet up instead.
If everyone took the simple step of not fertilising during winter, it would prevent over 10 tonnes of nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorous) entering our major coastal waterways of Geographe Bay and the Peel-Harvey, Leschenault and Swan Canning estuaries.
Hold off on the fertiliser until Spring. You can also help by sharing this message using our winter poster (download at left of screen) featuring Crusty and Chrisso on the couch.
